The Ever-Absent Blogger

If there were an award given for the "blogger with the fewest posts," I would likely win by a landslide.

I hosted a bridal shower this weekend at my home and it literally took over my life for several months. I made everything myself, including the food and the decor. There are a few photos posted because I am just so proud of the work I did. I had a vision and I brought it to life. It was beautiful, and most importantly, the bride loved it and enjoyed herself.

Needless to say, after this glorious and beautiful and expensive shower was over, I was flat broke. I suppose I am always broke, since I don't have a job that comes with a pay check, but now I had all but depleted our bank account. It was worth it. Every penny, every hour, day, month of hard work was well worth it.

So today, as I blow-dried my hair, I realized I desperately needed a hair cut. It had been months. Notice how long and wavy (a very happy and coincidental result of the rubber band that held my hair out of my face during the hours I spent dipping Oreo balls in chocolate) my hair was just 3 days ago.
The end result is about 3 inches shorter, and that spectacular curl will never happen, not until it grows some more. However, I was proud of myself for being frugal, and cutting my hair evenly, and for doing something for myself, by myself. I was even so inspired that I did my own nails as well. It was a day of pampering. How, you might ask, did this stay-at-home mother of three find the time for this?? Well, thanks in part to the exterminator who was late to fumigate my house. It was a wonderful experience, and I am forever indebted to this chubby, bald, Latin man who sings to himself as he sprays my home, because if not for his tardiness, I may not have had the time to primp. And let's face it, we can all use a little primping to make us feel good.
